Cora Franklin arrived at Northern Cardinal Rehab and Nursing after experiencing fainting spells at home, which led to frequent falls. Upon admission, she struggled with mobility—standing and walking even short distances left her feeling lightheaded and dizzy. She required assistance with daily tasks and needed close medical monitoring to stabilize her condition.
Our team took a comprehensive approach, focusing on daily lab work, vital sign monitoring, and medication adjustments to help improve her symptoms. As her dizziness decreased, Cora was able to participate more actively in therapy, taking small but important steps toward her goal.

Cora set her sights on a major milestone—getting home in time to celebrate her 89th birthday. With this goal in mind, our therapy team designed a personalized rehabilitation plan to help her regain strength, improve balance, and restore independence. Through consistent therapy sessions and unwavering determination, Cora made remarkable progress.
Regaining Strength and Independence
In just under a month, Cora achieved a complete transformation. She can now:
- Get out of bed, transfer, bathe, and dress independently—without dizziness.
- Walk up to 100 feet without an assistive device.
- Use a walker only for longer distances.
Her progress is nothing short of inspiring. With her fun-loving nature, quick wit, and youthful energy, Cora has been a joy to work with, always keeping our team entertained with her humor and love for life. She often shares stories about her children and grandchildren, expressing deep gratitude for the support she received throughout her rehab journey.
